Nebraska softball’s Nessa McMillen named to national freshman watch list

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Nebraska softball player earned a spot on a national freshman watch list on Tuesday.
Nessa McMillen, an outfielder and utility player, is one of 170 freshmen on Softball America’s watch list.
The outlet said the players on the list have a chance to make an “immediate impact” during the 2025 season.
The Blair native was a four-time All-State and All-Conference selection in high school.
McMillen was an offensive leader in high school, hitting above .400 each year. She finished her senior season with a .538 batting average, which also included 63 runs and 59 RBIs.
The Huskers begin their season at the NFCA Leadoff Classic on Feb. 6 in Clearwater, Florida.
