Even warmer before we fast forward to frigidly cold air
Each of the next couple days will also have warmer weather in the morning hours. If we dip below 30° either this morning or tomorrow morning, it won’t be for long.
Thursday has already seen temperatures closer to our average high at this time of year, or similar to a late March morning.
Bountiful sunshine paired with a warmer day in January shouldn’t be taken for granted. Get outside today if you can!
Especially because Thursday is expected to be the nicer of the two warmer days for the end of the work week. Winds will drastically pick up as a cold front is moving in on Friday, gusting eventually out of the north up to 35 mph. Cold air will rush in that night.
That makes for a very cold weekend – our coldest air during the wintertime usually originates from Siberia. That air is on the way.
Winds will still be rather strong on Saturday, then temperatures plummet again on Sunday for the start of our coldest temperatures yet this winter.
Morning wind chills will be at their worst Sunday, Monday and Tuesday mornings.
Beyond this cold snap, we’ll warm up rather quickly by the middle of next week. Still no precipitation in sight.
