School Resource Officers start at LPS today
Six Lincoln Police Officers will begin their duties as School Resource Officers today.
They’ll be assigned to middle schools across the city.
It’s part of an agreement between the city and Lincoln Public Schools to improve safety of students and staff.
They’ll be starting their jobs two months ahead of schedule.
They are veteran officers with extensive training in de-escalation.
