Rural crews battle barn fire in northern Gage County
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Firefighters battled the cold and extinguished a barn fire Tuesday morning in northern Gage County.
The fire was called in at a property near Southwest 42nd and West Apple roads, just west of Cortland.
A Channel 8 reporter at the scene said there was heavy smoke in the area when he arrived.
An official said the barn was a total loss. A few of the surrounding structures were also damaged.
No animals were inside the barn at the time of the fire.
The cause of the fire is unknown, and an investigation is ongoing.
