FBI warns of direct deposit hackers

The FBI has a warning–hackers are now out to reroute the direct deposit of your paycheck into accounts controlled by cyber crooks.

Take extra time to verify that your paycheck hit your bank account and beware of any official-looking emails related to company surveys.

According to the alert, cyber criminals have been targeting school districts, universities, hospitals and commercial airlines.

The FBI says they’ve seen an increase in scams in 2017.

They saw 17 payroll scams, but since July of this year, they’ve seen 47 of these scams, totaling $1 million.
