Third West Nile Virus death in Douglas County

Another West Nile related death has been reported in Douglas County.

That’s the third death there in a week.

It brings Nebraska’s West Nile death toll to seven.

The CDC says 133 Nebraskans have been diagnosed with the mosquito borne illness, a nationwide high.

57 of those cases are in Douglas County–and 30 people there have been hospitalized.

This is the most active the virus has been since 2013.
