Services scheduled for Greg Sharpe, the late ‘Voice of the Huskers’

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The “Voice of the Huskers” will be remembered at two services next week.
A celebration of life for 61-year-old Greg Sharpe will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27. His funeral is set for 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28.
Both services will be held at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church at 84th Street and Pioneers Boulevard.

Sharpe died Friday after a yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was the play-by-play announcer for Nebraska football and baseball since 2007.
Before that, he called games for Kansas State, his alma mater.

Sharpe is survived by his wife, Amy; three daughters; two brothers and nine nieces and nephews.
People can give memorial donations to the Greg Sharpe Memorial Scholarship Fund at the University of Nebraska Foundation or the Greg Sharpe Memorial Fund at Kansas State University.
