Nebraska men’s basketball falls to No. 15 Michigan in another one-score heartbreaker

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska men’s basketball dropped another one-score game Monday, losing 49-46 to No. 15 Michigan 49.

“I am proud of the team,” head coach Fred Hoiberg said. “I am proud of the guys for going out there and giving us a chance when you had about as poor of an offensive night as you can possibly have.”

The Huskers have lost five one-score games this season, Hoiberg liked the defensive energy on Monday.

“If we play with that type of energy and that type of spirit, we’ll be fine,” he said. “If we fall off with our energy, we’re going to struggle.”

Nebraska could not find its shooting stroke tonight.

Besides Brice Williams, who had a game-high 26 points, the rest of the team went 7-of-41 shooting.

Williams scored his 1,000th point as a Husker in the loss.

The Huskers now sit at 17-11 on the year with three regular-season games left.
