Child hit by vehicle at major Lincoln intersection, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A pedestrian suffered serious injuries Wednesday in a crash at a major Lincoln intersection, police say.
The crash was reported about 4:30 p.m. at 48th Street and Cornhusker Highway.
Police said a boy was crossing Cornhusker Highway when he was hit by a westbound vehicle.
He was taken to a hospital.
The Lincoln Police Department initially said his injuries were life-threatening, but by 7:30 p.m., police said that was no longer the case.
The preliminary investigation found that westbound traffic had a green light, according to the Lincoln Police Department.
Footage from Channel 8’s ABC Seamless camera showed a minivan with damage.
Traffic on Cornhusker Highway was backed up during rush hour.
