Man assaulted roommate, dog with wood trim in Grand Island, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Friday after attacking his roommate and a dog with a piece of wood trim in Grand Island, police say.

Police said Othman Mohamad assaulted his roommate with the wood trim before chasing him with an aluminum bat.

He then hit his roommate’s dog in the head with the wood trim, causing a contusion, according to police.

Othman had also previously caused about $500 in damage to the home’s front door.

He was arrested on suspicion of animal mistreatment, second-degree assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony, terroristic threats and criminal mischief.
