Health advisory issued over untreated wastewater in Salt Creek in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Untreated wastewater has flowed into a creek in north Lincoln.
The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department issued a public health advisory on Monday.
The wastewater was released into surface water near 20th Street and Gate Road between Sunday and Monday, according to the health department.
That water flows into Salt Creek near 27th and Fairfield streets.
Once the health department found out about the release, it said it took immediate actions to stop the release and clean up.
People are urged to avoid contact with the surface water and the creek in that area.
