LPS calls off school on Wednesday due to blizzard warning

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln Public Schools has canceled Wednesday classes ahead of a forecast winter storm.
Lancaster County will be under a blizzard warning from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday.
The Storm Alert Team said 2 to 4 inches of snow could fall. Sustained winds of 35 to 45 mph during the snowfall could limit visibility.

All LPS buildings will be closed, and all activities will also be canceled.
LPS said even with this closure, students will be within the required annual instructional hours, so the district will not need to extend the school year.
