Cooling trend toward this weekend with more rain
Just a few days now into April, we’re quickly seeing the sun come up earlier this month and the sun sets getting later. We’ll have sunset closer to almost 8:30 p.m. by the end of the month.
The morning commute today will be chilly compared to days past. Many of us are about 10-20 degrees colder than Wednesday morning already. The winds will remain light, though!
Thursday starts a cooling trend toward the weekend. Rather calm and pleasant conditions are expected as more clouds mix in for this afternoon.
Over the next two days (Thursday and Friday), rain and slushy snow is expected from southwest Nebraska into the Panhandle later today and tonight. Friday, we’ll see scattered showers spread into eastern Nebraska for the second part of the day and Friday night.
Up to a quarter of an inch or so looks possible for many of us in eastern Nebraska through Friday night. More precipitation will add up quickly in southwest Nebraska.
By the weekend we’re even cooler on Saturday and breezy.
More sun makes an appearance on Sunday as temperatures rebound to about normal for April 6th.
