Nebraska grounds the Jayhawks, snapping Kansas’ nine-game win streak

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska baseball defeated Kansas 7-5 on Tuesday.

Kansas had won nine straight games coming into its home contest against the Huskers.

Nebraska, looking to beat its fourth ranked opponent, started the scoring off with a run in the first.

The Red and White would get up to a 4-1 lead after four played.

Kansas wasn’t going away without a fight, scoring 3 runs in the fifth to tie the game at 4 apiece.

But Nebraska clutched up, scoring 2 in the eight and 1 in the ninth to take down No. 22 Kansas on the road.

Max Buettenback finished the night 3-for-3 with three RBIs.
