Lincoln Police captain on administrative leave after sexual misconduct allegations

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln Police captain who led the special victims unit has been placed on administrative leave, city officials said Thursday.

The city said in a statement that Capt. Jake Dilsaver has been removed from command of the unit, which investigates sex crimes.

But it did not say why.

“It is an internal personnel matter and we cannot comment further,” the city said.

This comes after a Nebraska Public Media report about Dilsaver sending multiple sexual messages to a co-worker.

In 2020, former Officer Sarah Williams filed a lawsuit against the city, which has since been settled.

Her lawsuit cited workplace harassment and discrimination but did not specifically mention Dilsaver.

But a separate lawsuit filed in 2023 by former Officer Angela Sands does mention Dilsaver.

In her lawsuit, Sands says Dilsaver sent Williams unsolicited pictures of his genitals while on duty and in uniform.

Sands reported the photos to then-Capt. Michon Morrow, according to the lawsuit.

The lawsuit also claims that several dispatchers had complained of unwanted sexual messages from Dilsaver.
