Woman arrested after firing gun at north Lincoln apartment complex, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman was arrested Thursday evening after firing a gun at an apartment complex in north Lincoln, police say.
Around 8:45 p.m., officers responded to an apartment complex near North 19th and Knox streets on a report of gunshots.
While at the scene, officers heard a gunshot.
Witnesses pointed the officers to the suspected shooter, who was on the ground floor level, according to LPD.
Mikayla Loeffelbein, 25, didn’t initially comply with the officers’ orders, police said.
She eventually came out of the apartment and was taken into custody.
Loeffelbein then made “verbal threats” toward a neighbor, according to police.
Officers found a handgun inside her apartment along with multiple cartridges. No one was injured.
Loeffelbein was arrested on suspicion of first-degree attempted assault, use of a firearm to commit a felony and terroristic threats.
