Lincoln Stars win postseason opener vs. Sioux City

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Stars moved one step closer to the Clark Cup on Friday night, defeating Sioux City 3-2.
The Stars entered the postseason after their best regular season in franchise history.
It was white out night at the Ice Box, and the game remained scoreless until Bruno Idzan got the Stars on the board with 12:32 left in the first period.
But that was the only goal scored between both teams for the first 35 minutes.
The Musketeers scored two goals in the final three minutes of the second period and entered the final frame up one.
But the Stars have prevailed all season long and did so in the third period.
Lincoln immediately responded with a pair of goals from Daniel Shlane and Aiden Janz to get back out in front.
The Stars held Sioux City scoreless the rest of the way and now lead the series 1-0.
Game two is set for 6:05 p.m. Saturday at the Ice Box Arena.
