WATCH: Group steals over $4,000 in tools from south Lincoln apartment’s workshop

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police are searching for a trio of thieves who stole over $4,000 in tools at a south Lincoln apartment complex last month.

The theft happened on March 31 around 4:30 a.m. when three people broke into the workshop of an apartment complex near 46th Street and Old Cheney Road.

Security video showed the thieves taking over $4,300 in tools, including drills, a pole saw and an electric welder, according to police.

The group used two getaway cars: a newer Jeep Compass and an older Toyota Corolla.

Investigators noted the Corolla was missing a front bumper and had “significant” wear and tear to the hood and roof of the vehicle.

Police are also searching for a couple involved in a theft at Walmart near North 84th and Adams streets on Sunday.

The couple grabbed a duffle bag from a display and loaded it up with shirts, a hoodie and jewelry, according to police.

They eventually left in a silver Oldsmobile Alero.  Police provided pictures of the suspected thieves.

Anyone with information on either case is asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
