Spotty showers possible the next couple days; a wonderful weekend ahead
It was about time we saw rain for just about everyone. Thunderstorms in central Nebraska produced some good rain (blue is about 0.5″ estimated by radar, yellow is about 1″ or so) last night.
And finally southeast Nebraska some decent, moderate showers throughout Wednesday and into Thursday morning… adding up to just under a half an inch in Lincoln.
April showers should leave us with some May flowers! This morning, temperatures have been running warm in the middle and upper 50s which is closer to our average low temperatures by the end of the month.
After the recent rain, mist and fog will be out there early Thursday morning before a cold front comes through. Behind that front, northwest winds will pick up for a breezy day.
On and off scattered rounds of showers will be possible the next two days.
Thursday it’ll be during the heating hours of the afternoon, but Friday we could see them materialize in the morning, afternoon and evening. There is no concern for severe weather with these showers and isolated storms.
This weekend looks superb! What a time to plant and garden if you’ve had the itch to do so.
This Sunday is also the Lincoln marathon. If you plan on running, there will be a bit of a southeast breeze increasing throughout the race.
Next week’s chances for rain have dwindled to what may just be a late Tuesday into Wednesday event. But temperatures continue to look comfortable for the first full week of May.
