Nebraska softball’s Jordyn Bahl earns fifth Big Ten Pitcher of the Week award

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska softball’s Jordyn Bahl was named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week for the fifth time this season, the conference announced Monday.

Bahl is the first player in NU history to win six weekly awards in the same season. She also won Player of the Week in April.

Her five Pitcher of the Week awards are tied for the second-most in conference history.

On the weekend, Bahl went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA. She has not allowed a run in her last 18 innings pitched.

Against Maryland, the Papillion native only allowed one hit out of the infield, which was a flyout.

She held the Terrapins — an offense that scored 61 runs in its last six games entering the weekend — to a .029 batting average.

She now leads the conference in ERA (1.46), strikeouts (234), opponent batting average (.150) and WHIP (0.94), and is third in wins (22).

The Huskers grabbed a bye in the Big Ten Tournament and will face the winner of No. 6 Iowa vs. No. 11 Penn State.

Nebraska’s game is set for 10 a.m. Thursday and will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
