LPD seeking duo who stole vehicle from secured garage at Lincoln apartment

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police are searching for two people who stole a vehicle from a secured parking garage in south Lincoln last month.

On May 24, around 4:15 a.m., two people entered the parking garage of an apartment complex near 48th Street and Yankee Hill Road.

Over two hours later, the victim received text alerts notifying him that his credit cards were being used, according to police.

The victim had left his wallet in his vehicle, which was in the parking garage.  When he went to check on the vehicle, he discovered that it was missing.

Police said the victim was unsure how the car was stolen, as he had both keys and it was in a secure building.

Officers recovered the vehicle about five hours later near Northwest 43rd Street and West Thatcher Lane.

Police are also searching for a man who has trespassed “multiple times” on the porch of a home near Northwest 22nd and West Q streets.

The victim reported that the man has been “checking door handles” and taking items from her porch, according to police.

Anyone with information on either case is asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
