Hazy skies Sunday, heat wave on the horizon

Sunday, scattered rain showers are expected to develop along a cold front in western Nebraska and move eastward through the morning and afternoon. Smoke will also be present across parts of the region Sunday afternoon into the evening, lingering into Monday morning. Temperatures will climb back into the 80s and even low 90s this week, with chances for storms returning later in the week.

Sunday, temperatures will be cooler in the 60s and 70s for most of us. A cold front will move through early Sunday morning with some rain showers. The cooler temperatures is where the rain and cloud cover will be.

StormCast shows some rain showers developing out west overnight. These rain showers will move east early Sunday morning. Some of this rain might not make it to the ground due to the dry air at the surface. The cold front takes the moisture and creates it into rain, which leaves drier air behind it.
