Police identify pedestrian killed in north Lincoln crash

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police on Monday identified the pedestrian who was fatally hit by a vehicle in north Lincoln over the weekend.

The crash happened on Saturday around 12:30 a.m. near North 27th Street and Cornhusker Highway.

Police said Jere Charginghawk, 44, was hit by a vehicle in the parking lot of a nearby business.

By the time officers arrived, the vehicle involved had driven off, according to LPD.

Charginghawk died at the scene.

Police think alcohol or drugs were not factors in the crash, and an investigation is ongoing.  At this time, no arrests or citations have been made.
