Just a little bit of a northerly breeze with highs only warming to the lower 80s is something we will take! And something we’ll wish we had back by the time this weekend rolls around.

There’s a small chance at a stray shower or thunderstorm sweeping through this morning into the early afternoon, but it won’t amount to much rain. Clouds will gradually clear out after that.

With the heat by the end of the week comes stronger winds, too. South wind gusts could be in the ballpark of 40-45 mph for Friday through Sunday.

The HeatRisk is expected to be up in the “Major” if not “Extreme” categories especially Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The “Extreme” category for those in purple (especially urban areas) means that rare heat is expected.
