One person dead after two homes catch fire in southwest Lincoln trailer park

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — One person died early Saturday in a fire at a southwest Lincoln trailer park.

About midnight, Lincoln Fire & Rescue responded to Southwest 15th and West Peach streets, in the Harbour West mobile home park.

LFR said the fire started in one trailer home and spread to the other.

When firefighters arrived, they could see lots of flames, Battalion Chief Jeremy Gegg said.

Crews fought the flames quickly, Gegg said, but they found one person dead in the trailer where the fire started.

Everyone else was able to make it out, according to LFR.

Smoke was rising from the other trailer and filling the air.

LFR and Lincoln Police Department vehicles lined the entire block.
