Occasional rounds of storms possible in coming days
Some rain and thunderstorms yesterday with a brief wind out of the north felt awfully nice on Monday!
Temperatures remain on the cooler side of average for late June this Tuesday with a high temperature in the lower 80s for Lincoln and mostly cloudy skies.
Some fog had developed west toward the Tri-Cities and nearby as morning temperatures dropped to the upper 60s, and clouds thinned a bit. A little more rain fell out that way in the past 24 hours as well (between Highway 281 and 81).
Rain chances bump slightly around the morning commute for some storms in the area, but then our next chances will come late this afternoon and again overnight into Wednesday morning. Here’s the latest timing on storms across Nebraska Tuesday into Wednesday (June 24-25, 2025).
Overall, the threat for severe weather remains low for any one location. The risk for severe weather does increase for those Nebraskans out in the Panhandle and western Nebraska with a Slight (Level 2 of 5) risk in place.
The Marginal (Level 1 of 5) risk for everyone else means that an isolated storm or two could produce some hail and strong winds, but most will storms are expected to be under severe limits (58 mph winds and quarter-size hail).
There is a risk for some isolated instances of flash flooding especially within the yellow below. Not everyone will see it, but it multiple rounds of storms train through the same area, that risk increases.
Here’s what one of the latest models of Stormcast is showing for potential rain amounts through Wednesday morning.
More evening/nighttime storms will be possible Wednesday and Thursday, too. Besides today, high temperatures will warm again to the upper 80s and lower 90s the rest of the week with plenty of humidity sticking around.
