Teen arrested in armed robbery at Holmes Lake in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A teen was arrested Thursday after an armed robbery over the weekend at Holmes Lake, police say.
Just after 9 p.m. on Sunday, officers learned of a robbery that had happened about three hours prior at Holmes Lake’s south shore.
The victims told officers they were robbed at gunpoint by a 17-year-old boy they knew and two other males, according to LPD.
One of the victims, a 21-year-old from Papillion, showed a gun to the group.
But the three males each pulled out a gun of their own and stole the victim’s firearm.
They also stole the victims’ phones, cash and keys before leaving the area, police said.
On Thursday, officers found the teen, along with the stolen handgun, during a probable cause search of the vehicle, LPD said.
He was referred and lodged at the Youth Services Center on suspicion of robbery, use of a firearm to commit a felony and possession of a firearm by a prohibited juvenile offender.
