Three flamingo chicks hatched at Omaha zoo
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is welcoming a trio of flamingo chicks on Saturday.
In a post on Facebook, the zoo said it has successfully bred and hatched three flamingo chicks for the first time in three decades.
The chicks will now rely on their parents for warmth and feeding, according to zoo officials.
People can sneak a peek at the chicks this weekend, but the zoo said it will require “a little patience and the right angle to see their tiny heads poke up from the nest.”
The chicks aren’t expected to stay little for long. The zoo said they’ll be the size of their parents in about 3 months.
