Kearney factory hit by layoffs

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A company is laying off most of its workers at its Kearney plant.
Eaton Corporation said Wednesday it will stop making engine valves at the factory but will keep making gears.
Spokesman Tom Nellenbach would not confirm the exact number of layoffs, but he told Channel 8 that most of the 300 employees at the plant are working in engine valve production.
He said the workers being let go will receive a “comprehensive transition package.”
