Nebraska Department Of Transportation Warns Public Of Scam

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska Department of Transportation is alerting the public to a text message scam.

In a social media post on Monday, the department said some are receiving a text message with a link to pay for an outstanding traffic ticket.

“If you receive a text message like this one, do not click the link,” NDOT said on social media. “While it appears to be an NDOT link, it is not legitimate.”

Instead, report the message as junk and delete it. The Nebraska DMV does not send any official notice via text message.
