Armed man tries stealing alcohol from Lincoln gas station that doesn’t sell alcohol
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An armed man wanted to steal alcohol from a south Lincoln gas station — but the store didn’t sell liquor.
Police are searching for the man, who entered the U-Stop on 27th and Stockwell streets around 10:30 p.m. on July 6.
The man pointed an item wrapped under a blue bandana at an employee’s head during an attempt to steal liquor.
Police said the item appeared to have an outline of a firearm.
When the employee informed him that the store doesn’t sell alcohol, the man ran out of the store.
Police are also looking for a duo who stole thousands of dollars worth of alcohol from two Lincoln liquor stores.
The thefts happened on July 4, when a man and woman walked out of Wall To Wall Wine near 27th Street and Folksway Boulevard with over $2,400 worth of alcohol.
Police said the duo then went to The Still near 70th Street and Nebraska Parkway and stole another $2,450 worth of alcohol.
The two left in a newer Toyota Camry.
Anyone with information on either case is asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
