Students at Lincoln Public Schools head to summer break

Thursday was the last day of school for kids at LPS.

Some students who graduated from 5th grade at Huntington Elementary told Channel 8 how it felt.

“It’s pretty sad because then you have to leave some of your friends, but most of them you still get to be with,” Jaden Lott said.

“Good because I have no more homework and stuff,” Devon Heaston said.

Some were a little more enthusiastic to just be on TV.

Students told Channel 8 what their summer plans are.

“I’m going to go swimming and probably play a lot of video games,” Devon said.

“It’s fun too but then again, I probably won’t get to be doing anything,” Jaden said.

To Jaden’s credit, he said he’s looking forward to getting his phone this summer.

He and Devon both graduated from the fifth grade, so they’ll be moving on to middle school next school year.

They said that’ll take some getting used to.
