Semi driver dies after Highway 77 crash north of Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A semi driver was killed Tuesday afternoon in a crash north of Lincoln.
About 12:20 p.m., two semitrailers collided at Highway 77 and Waverly Road, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.
Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said the driver of a westbound semi failed to yield to a southbound semi.
The driver of the westbound semi was ejected and died from his injuries.
The other driver did not suffer serious injuries.
Highway 77 was closed between Mill Road and Bluff Road, and Waverly Road was shut down from 40th to 70th streets.
About 6 p.m., the sheriff’s office said all roads were back open.
More information is expected to be released at a Wednesday morning press conference.
