Breezy, mostly dry until storm chances Wednesday morning
Finally a dry day in the forecast, one outdoor projects are probably looking forward to in order to get a move on.
The morning hours will be pleasant to enjoy a longer bike ride before winds pick up later today.
Wind hasn’t been mentioned in a while, but Tuesday afternoon higher winds are expected especially in central Nebraska. Southerly wind gusts will pick up around 35 mph by the afternoon, with southeast Nebraska seeing more of a breeze as well.
Temperatures continue to warm this week, with hot temperatures out west approaching the middle 90s. In eastern Nebraska, highs will be in the lower to middle 80s.
A Marginal (Level 1 of 5) risk is in place along the Missouri River for a damaging wind threat toward sunrise as storms dive out of South Dakota early Wednesday morning.
Storms move into northeast Nebraska overnight, then are expected to try to build a little more to the south along the Missouri River into Wednesday morning.
There’s some uncertainty of how much of far eastern Nebraska will see these storms through the morning, but they could build south and west enough to graze Lincoln and surrounding areas around sunrise into the middle morning hours.
Wednesday has another lower-end risk for severe weather largely for the same evening and overnight timeframe, with wind and hail as the main threats.
Beyond the middle of this week, the hottest day looking ahead will be on Friday.
The start of school has also made in on the 10-day forecast, with all kids together for their first day of school by next Wednesday.
Before you know it, the Husker season, fall and Halloween will all be getting closer as well!
