Two dead, one injured after shooting and fire in Glenwood, Iowa
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Two people are dead after a shooting and fire Wednesday night in western Iowa, KMTV reports.
Glenwood Police Chief Eric Johansen said another person was in critical condition.
Glenwood is across the Missouri River from Plattsmouth, Nebraska. It is home to about 5,000 people.
The shooting happened near Fourth and Grove streets, where a home was also set on fire.
About 8 p.m., the Mills County Emergency Management Agency said there was an “active law enforcement situation” and urged people to avoid the area.
Barricades were put up on multiple roads.
Late Wednesday night, police said it was an isolated incident and there is no further threat to the community.
The Glenwood Police Department, the Mills County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are investigating.
