LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested early Wednesday morning after a robbery in north Lincoln, police say.

Around 12:30 a.m., an officer was waved down by a man who reported being robbed near North 27th and W streets.

The victim said he was approached by a man, later identified as 25-year-old Zavion Zaire Jermaine Simmons.

Simmons was “holding something in his hand,” causing the victim to fear for his safety, according to LPD.

The man took several items from the victim before leaving the area.

About an hour later, officers found Simmons near North 27th and Holdrege streets and took him into custody.

Simmons was arrested on suspicion of robbery.
