Southeast Nebraska Remains Mostly Sunny, Storm Chances North This Evening

Severe weather is possible for the northern and central portions of the state after dinner time this evening. The Storm Prediction Center has a SLIGHT RISK (Level 2 out of 5) of severe weather for far north-central Nebraska.
The latest runs of Stormcast show storms into the northern portion of the state by 10 p.m. CDT and dissipating shortly after 5 a.m. CDT over northeast Nebraska. The Capital City may see some rain if this complex of storms is able to hold on past sunrise on Thursday.
Forecast:
As the first day of class for all Lincoln Public Schools students comes to a close, we will still see temperatures in the mid to upper 80s through dinnertime tonight with mostly sunny skies.
Low temperatures across southeast Nebraska will be in the upper 60s this evening. Mostly clear skies and winds out of the south-southeast at 5 to 10 miles per hour.
Overnight in the Capital City, we will drop to the upper 60s with mostly clear skies. Expect a mild evening ahead with a south-southeasterly breeze.
Highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s on Thursday with mostly sunny skies and a strong southerly wind. A sprinkle or two across southeast Nebraska is possible if storms from north-central Nebraska are able to maintain themselves overnight.
Following some morning cloud cover, mostly sunny skies will leave us with high temperatures in the lower 90s for Lincoln. Winds out of the south will be strong at 10 to 15 miles per hour, gusting to 25.
Following tomorrow morning’s storm chances, we will stay dry in southeastern Nebraska until at least Sunday evening.
Temperatures climb towards the end of the work week and through the weekend. High temperatures for the next several days will be in the mid-to-upper 90s. Storm chances late Sunday night through Monday and Tuesday will cool us down back into the middle 80s by the middle part of next week.
