Repeating temperatures around 90° until a cooler weekend

Like a broken record, we’ll be near 90° again both Thursday and Friday. This will be the last of the summer temperatures as we end August mostly in the 70s.

If you’ve been getting a little more sneezy lately like some of us, more allergens are on the rise.

Recent pollen counts by Nebraska Wesleyan University show high numbers for weed and grass pollens.

Fog is going to be less dense for areas that have seen it recently, before clearing a few hours after sunrise – if not earlier. Most of us are looking at a sunny start to the day with temperatures warming to the lower 80s by the end of the morning.

More fair-weather cumulus clouds to Thursday in the sky. A dry layer right below some of those clouds will keep an isolated showers from reaching the ground compared to the very spot showers seen on Wednesday.

High temperatures will be slightly above average in the upper 80s to about 90° just before the weekend. Friday will bring the changes with a cold front arriving for the afternoon and night across Nebraska.

With this cold front, the entire state is under a Marginal (Level 1 of 5) risk because of a few storms potentially bringing some hail and gusty winds.

Here’s the latest timing of storms starting in northwest and central Nebraska drifting southeast through the day and Friday night.

Start time is a little earlier Friday night for southeast Nebraska (around maybe 8-10PM) unlike every other time we’ve had storms this summer.

This cold front will also be responsible for cooler air with a lot less humidity in time for Saturday… lasting into early next week though, as well.

Temperatures drop below average starting Saturday, but then we have multiple days in the 70s Sunday through next week.

The best days then to cut the grass will be Saturday and Sunday!
