A beautiful day ahead in the Capital City with temperatures today reaching the upper 70s in Lincoln. Mostly sunny skies with a stronger northerly breeze between 10 and 15 miles per hour, gusting to 20.

Temperatures tonight will fall into the middle and upper 50s with mostly clear skies across southeastern Nebraska. Northerly winds calm down this evening, staying between 5 and 10 miles per hour.

Stormcast shows storm chances early Sunday morning for southwestern Nebraska, then moving towards eastern Nebraska close to noon. Gusty winds and small hail may be possible with stronger storms, but little to no severe potential is expected.

Below average temperatures continue through next week with temperatures in the middle and upper 70s. Temperatures will take another drop with chances for showers and thunderstorms beginning Wednesday night. Sunshine returns to the forecast through the following weekend, with temperatures returning to the 80s on Labor Day.
