Forecast:
A cooler day ahead in the Capital City where morning cloud cover will continue to hold temperatures back heading into the afternoon. High temperatures in Lincoln today will reach the lower to mid-70s with partly sunny skies. If you’re heading out to Day 3 of the AVCA First Serve Showcase, a nice Husker jacket will serve you well.
High temperatures in southeastern Nebraska will be in the upper 60s and lower-to-mid 70s on Sunday. Partly sunny skies and northwesterly wind between 5 and 10 miles per hour.
Stormcast will keep the Capital City clear of storms for the rest of the weekend and through the start of the work week. Showers continue for southwestern Nebraska before storm chances move into southeastern portions of the state early Tuesday morning.
Forecast lows this evening will fall into the lower and middle 50s with partly cloudy skies. A north breeze will aid cooling at 5 to 10 miles per hour.
For Lincoln, temperatures will fall into the lower 50s just before sunrise on Monday morning. Partly cloudy skies and a light northerly wind for the evening ahead.
It is the first day of classes at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on Monday. Partly sunny skies are expected with high temperatures reaching the middle 70s with a light breeze out of the north-northwest. Storm chances return to the forecast on Tuesday while below average high temperatures continue in the middle and upper 70s for the week ahead. For anyone heading down to Kansas City, there will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms for the drive down to cheer on the Huskers. Small chances of rain continue through next weekend before slightly warmer temperatures return in the upper 70s and lower 80s by Labor Day.
