Athlete of the Week: Lincoln Lutheran’s Henry Prokop

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Friday night was the beginning of a new season for hundreds of high school football teams across the state.
But it was also the beginning of a new story for Henry Prokop.
Prokop made his first start at Quarterback for Lincoln Lutheran over the weekend, helped leading the Warriors to a 34-12 victory over Lincoln Christian.
Prokop was a duel threat, defeating defenders in the air, and on the ground. He totaled 165 yards rushing, and three touchdowns. He also threw 11/19 passes for 185 yards, and one touchdown.
The biggest play of the game came late in the third quarter, when Prokop scored a 31 yard rushing touchdown on 3rd and 11.
Despite the stellar performance, Prokop was humble after the Warriors win, citing how proud he was of how the team played.
“We all played great as a team. Everyone played physical, and it helped everyone, giving it all they have,” Prokop said. “I played for my teammates.”
Henry was also playing on both sides of the ball. He played several snaps on defense for most of the game.
Prokop and the Warriors will play their home opener at Aldrich Field next Friday night vs. Auburn.
