Labor Day flooding concerns

 

A cloudy and cool Labor Day ahead! Temperatures staying in the mid to upper 60s with areas of dense fog across the state Monday morning. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely through the morning and early afternoon in eastern Nebraska. By evening, rain will taper off and temperatures will cool down into the 50s.

The best chance for steady and moderate rainfall will be between 5am-1pm. Localized flooding will be likely especially with the strongest showers and thunderstorms. The periodic rain and thunderstorms will stay in SE Nebraska through Monday evening. Additional rain totals up to 2″+. Flash flood warnings have already been issued this morning in and around parts of Lincoln.

A chilly Labor Day! Temperatures only reaching the upper 60s and lower 70s for all of us. We will warm up Tuesday with plenty of sunshine!

Tonight, temperatures feeling quite cooler in the low to mid 50s under mostly cloudy skies and patchy fog.

Cloudy and rainy Labor Day. Sun will come out Tuesday which will warm us up into the 70s! The tail end of a LOW will bring some scattered storm chances Wednesday evening across eastern Nebraska. Temperatures will remain in the low to mid 70s all through next weekend. We could be seeing another front late next weekend, bringing rain and storm chances across the state. Official Fall has started and it sure feels like it!
