Temperatures keep climbing this week; talk of fall tree colors in Nebraska
Turns out we did not quite make it to 80° yesterday in Lincoln: we actually fell just one degree short.
That means our current streak of cooler days (below 80°) is now up to 11 days. That also means we have yet to hit 80° in the month of September so far, too!
Wednesday, though, is looking like we should see temperatures climb into the lower 80s by the afternoon.
As temperatures climb, so does the humidity a bit this week.
The heat index shouldn’t be too much higher than actual air temperature readings though… maybe feeling up to a few degrees warmer as we hover up to almost muggy conditions again.
The Husker game this Saturday will feel quite hot though with temperatures warming to 90 and the sun beating down. We always have at least one warmer game toward the beginning of the season, and this one certainly looks to fit the bill.
Fall is still about a couple weeks away (fall equinox is September 22nd), but maps about the current fall colors have started to come out. Little to no color has been observed all over Nebraska, with maybe a few trees around you starting to show signs of some change.
Our peak fall colors in Nebraska (above) typically are seen by the middle and end of October.
