Jr. Jays fly past Lincoln Southeast, hold Knights scoreless in second half
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Creighton Prep football team dominated Lincoln Southeast on Friday night, beating the Knights 31-10 at Seacrest Field.
It was a back-and-forth first half that started with a pick six from Creighton Prep’s Nico Kocmich, giving the Jr. Jays an early 7-0 lead.
After a couple of field goals, the Knights tied the game at 10 thanks to a 5-yard touchdown run by junior running back Brecken Bokowski.
But it was all Jays from there.
Prep ended the first half with a long touchdown drive that was capped off by senior running back Angelo Walker, giving the Jays a 17-10 lead at the break.
The Jays opened up the second half with a commanding 15-play, 82-yard drive that took more than eight minutes off the clock.
Walker’s second touchdown of the night capped off that drive, giving the Jays a 24-10 lead.
The icing on the cake came via a 65-yard reverse punt return by Kocmich, taking the air out of Lincoln Southeast’s sideline.
With the win, Creighton Prep advances to 3-0 and will take on Millard West next Friday.
Lincoln Southeast falls to 2-1 and will look to regroup against Norfolk on Thursday.
