One killed in crash on rural highway near Grand Island

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A person was killed Wednesday morning in a crash on a rural highway near Grand Island, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office says.
The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. near Highway 281 and Guenther Road, just south of Grand Island.
A box truck was heading north when it lost control, crossed the median and crashed into a Chevy pickup truck on the driver’s side door, according to the sheriff’s office.
The driver of the pickup, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sheriff’s office did not say if the driver of the box truck, a 35-year-old Grand Island man, was injured in the crash.
An investigation is ongoing and an autopsy will be conducted.
