Lincoln Christian’s two-game winning streak snapped by Syracuse
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Christian football team took its second loss of the season Friday night, losing 34-16 to undefeated Syracuse at home.
The Crusaders won two-straight games after losing their season opener to Lincoln Lutheran in August, but failed to keep the streak alive against the Rockets.
Syracuse took an early lead in the first quarter thanks to a 2-yard touchdown rush from Will Janssen, giving the Rockets a 7-0 lead.
But Lincoln Christian would answer right back with a 1-yard touchdown run from senior running back Jaedon Welton.
A two-point conversion would give the Crusaders a 8-7 lead in the second quarter.
Right before halftime, the Rockets would get on the board again with a 2-yard touchdown run from junior running back Mason Lintz, giving Syracuse a 14-8 lead at the break.
The Rockets wouldn’t look back, running away with this one in the second half.
Lincoln Christian will look to get back on track against Milford next Friday.
Syracuse will try to continue its undefeated season against Fairbury on Friday.
