LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A 79-year-old Lincoln woman was hospitalized early Monday morning after she was hit by a car in east Lincoln.

Just before 7 a.m., Lincoln Fire & Rescue was sent to the intersection of 84th and Holdrege streets.

According to the Lincoln Police Department, the pedestrian was walking in the north crosswalk on Holdrege Street.

Two witnesses said a grey 2020 Ford F-150 was turning north onto 84th Street when they hit the pedestrian and her dog.

According to the crash report, the driver of the pickup didn’t see the pedestrian due to the sun glare.

The driver — a 40-year-old Lincoln man — also didn’t remember if there was a green turn arrow or a flashing yellow turn arrow.

Both witnesses also couldn’t recall which turn arrow was showing.

The pedestrian was taken to Bryan West Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

LPD said any citations are pending an investigation.
