A chilly and gloomy Tuesday- Warming up Wednesday
Keep an umbrella and jacket nearby today. Light to moderate rain showers will continue through the afternoon across eastern Nebraska, with temperatures staying in the 60s. The greatest chance for measurable rainfall will be in northeast Nebraska. The peak of the rain will occur from 8am-2pm today.
Tuesday morning and afternoon, light to moderate rainfall will be ongoing in parts of eastern Nebraska. The rain will taper off by this evening with cloudy skies across the state. Wednesday morning expect dense fog across the state.
Rain accumulations will be minimum, with some spots getting a few tenths of an inch through Tuesday evening. Dry air is contributing to lower amounts of rain for most of us.
Tuesday, high temperatures are expected later in the evening as a warm front moves in from Kansas. Areas experiencing rainfall will remain cooler, while warmer temperatures will be felt closer to the Nebraska–Kansas border.
Monday was relatively dry, but today dew points are rising back into the 50s, bringing increased moisture to support rain development.
This afternoon will be a gloomy and chilly day, with light rain in the morning and early afternoon hours. We look to warm back up into the upper 70s and lower 80s Wednesday through Friday due to a warm front from Kansas. A cold front will move through Friday night, bringing temperatures back down into the upper 60s and lower 70s. This weekend looks quite beautiful and more like Fall! We are keeping an eye on a potential system early November, which could bring colder air and weather changes.
