Nebraska soccer’s Lauryn Anglim named Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska soccer defender Lauryn Anglim was honored Tuesday as the Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
Anglim led the Husker backfield to shutouts against Purdue on Thursday and Maryland on Sunday.
The Boilermakers only took five shots total and had none on goal, while the Terrapins had six shots with one on goal.
The Papillion native also logged the game-winning goal against Maryland with a penalty kick score in the 39th minute.
Anglim is the first Husker to earn a weekly honor since Sarah Weber was named the offensive player of the week in 2024.
She is the first defensive player of the week since Sinclaire Miramontez in 2018.
The Big Red will continue competition at USC on Thursday. The match is set for 9 p.m. on Big Ten Plus.
