Three people hospitalized following two-vehicle crash in northeast Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Three people were hospitalized Wednesday morning following a two-vehicle crash in northeast Lincoln.
Just before 7:30 a.m., several first responders were sent to the intersection of 56th and Holdrege streets.
According to a crash report from the Lincoln Police Department, a 2015 Hyundai Sonata was driving north on 56th street.
As the Sonata entered the intersection, it was hit by a 2022 GMC Sierra that was traveling west on Holdrege Street.
According to the crash report, the driver of the Sonata said she was driving 20 mph and had a green light when she entered the intersection.
The driver of the GMC said he was driving 35 mph and had the green light at the intersection.
According to a witness, the driver of the Sonata ran the red light.
LPD said the 18-year-old female driver of the Sonata was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
A 16-year-old passenger in the Sonata was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to LPD.
The driver of the GMC was hospitalized with minor injuries as well.
LPD cited the driver of the Sonata for running a red light.
